Peachy Keen Stamps
Powered by Blogger.
I know I said I wouldn't be able to post anything for today, but I had some time in the hotel to surf the net and find some great ideas. You would not believe all of the awesome cool stuff I bought at the CHA SuperShow yesterday. My wallet is still smokin'! And I'll be going back today as well. I was so happy to meet Beate yesterday who is a real hero of mine. She hugged me like a good friend. I showed her my portfolio and we talked a little. It was pretty busy over at the SCS booth since they were right there by the main door entrance.
I loaded up on stamps from Peachy Keen stamps. They have the coolest stamps! I can't wait to share all of my creations with them. They are stamps of faces and expressions. I saw those stamps and instantly, I HAD to get them since they would go so great with my punch art. I can do eyes well with the teardrop punch, but I've never been very good with drawing on the eyelashes, nose and mouth. I also got some really funny greetings from MFT to add to my collection. Custom Crops had the Pink Lady stamps that are so fun. So I ended up buying 3 sets of greetings. They will all go so well with my upcoming punch art classes. Lots of great make and takes. Taylored Expressions of course had some wonderful make and takes yesterday. I got to do one, but they also changed the make and take every 2 hours. If I was ambitious, I could have gone over and made 4 yesterday. Denemi and their most awesome stamps was there. The samples always blow me away. I only got one super cute hooty owl stamp. I wish they offered unmounted. Their wood stamps are really expensive! Oh, and I HAD to go dig through the multiple bins of loose unmounted rubber over at Whipper Snapper. They really have the funnest and cutest stamps ever made!
I could go on and on and make you all jealous, but I won't. On to the inspiration!

I'm heading to the CHA super show this weekend. Hopefully I'll run into a few of my blog readers. I'll see you at the SCS booth or perhaps hanging out over at the EK Success booth! I'm also taking a copic class on Friday.

There was a death in my family so I spent the day at a funeral. I haven't had as much time to surf the net and find a ton of great punch ideas. The finds are small today and there won't be any tomorrow.
I'm hoping to come back from my trip with lots of fun new goodies to play with. I have another fun punch art idea in my head, but I won't be able to get it done until I come home.

I've always wanted to try making one of these double sliding cards. The instructions for the slider is HERE. I used the Stampin' Up! More Monkey Accessories stamp set to create the hat for one of the owls and the wagon. I used a combination of 3 different Stampin' Up! designer series papers. The wasabi dot print is from Woodland Walk. The marina stripe and crumb cake dot is from Elegant Soiree and the riding hood red dot is from a retired collection. I used cherry cobbler and wild wasabi cardstock. I used Nestabilities Label #4 for the front of the card. 2 of the greetings are from the SU! set called Owl Together Now and the "guess hoo?" stamp came from MFT Thinking of Hoo set.
For the owls, I used all of the pieces of the 2 Step Owl punch plus the wing from the 2 Step Bird punch. The birds use basic gray, going gray and pumpkin cardstocks.

I get this question a lot. Given the fact that I work a full time job and have a family and household to maintain, when do I get the time to create? The answer is I DON'T SLEEP. Seriously. It's a good day if I get 7 hours of sleep, but usually it's more like 5 1/2 - 6 hours. So, if I ever seem testy, you can blame it on a lack of sleep. LOL
It's been a pretty pleasant summer in Wisconsin and I've found it rather hard to stay indoors and work on my creations in the evening or weekends. Sorry I haven't put a new tutorial up for sale in quite a long while. I haven't given up on it (although I was discouraged a few times by copyright violators).
I started working on a new tutorial called "In the Garden". It will feature cute garden/pond critters. I have 2 out of 5 finished so far. It's just taking longer than I anticipated. Once that is finished, I can start on my first Halloween collection.
I hope everyone has at least enjoyed all of my other creations that I have been posting. I have many scrapbook pages that have never been shared, so you can expect to see more of those in the future as well.
If you are itching for a new punch art tutorial, I recently created an exclusive design for a fundraiser that will go live this weekend. More details will be posted then. Thanks everyone for stopping by to read my blog and buy my classes!

Good morning everyone. Here is a page spread I created using a paper piecing pattern from Precious Piecings. I used my Cricut with SCAL to create the title. If you have SCAL, you'll want to hop over to Lisa's site and get a bunch of patterns. All of her patterns come with an svg cut file.
Hello everyone, to solve the problem with viewing permissions, I started gathering ideas on SCS when I'm not logged in. This way, any neat ideas I might have found in the fanclub galleries, won't show up in my search results. It's a shame that I can't show some of those ideas because they are pretty cool.

Hello everyone, I'm just realizing that some of these splitcoaststampers ideas that I'm sharing must be ideas posted by the fanclub. When I find these ideas, I generally do a search within the gallery with certain search words and then they show me the results. What I didn't realize is that they give me results for ALL galleries, not only ones open to the non paying public. I have no way of knowing either whether they are fanclub posts or not.
For those of you that are not aware, if you become a fanclub member on SCS, you get access to SO MUCH MORE! You get access to more ideas, discussion forums, challenges, etc. And the best part is that an annual membership is super cheap! It's TOTALLY WORTH IT! I'm hoping that everyone gets over to SCS and gets a fanclub membership. This way, you will be able to see EVERYTHING. Whenever there is a link to a blog on a SCS sample, I follow it over to the blog. Unfortunately, not everyone has a blog or shares a link to their blog for their sample. If I could figure out a way to tell what is a fanclub post and what isn't, I wouldn't post those links.
Sorry if some of my readers can't follow the links! I highly recommend going over to SCS and getting a fanclub membership

Hey all, I thought my punch art hydrant would look really cute with the Friends Fur-ever stamp set. The greeting is from the Afterthoughts set (hostess). The DSP is a specialty valentines collection. I don't think it's in the current catalog. Directions to make the sliding pop up card is HERE.

To make the hydrant, you will need the following Stampin' Up! punches:
Wide Oval - 1 in cherry cobbler
1" Circle - 1 in cherry cobbler
3/4" Circle - 1 in cherry cobbler
Word Window - 3 in cherry cobbler
1) Cut away about 1/4" of the 1" Circle (top of hydrant). Cut each end off of one of the word windows at an angle (top). Cut one word window in half. Trim the ends of each half at an angle (sides of hydrant). Clip one word window into 4 equal size squares. Clip the bottom and sides off the wide oval to create the main body of the hydrant.
2) Sponge the edges of all pieces with cherry cobbler ink.
3) Glue the 1" circle at the top of the hydrant body. Glue on the side pieces. Glue the mini squares onto the sides and top of the hydrant. Attach one of the small squares in the center of the 3/4" circle with a dimensional. Attach the 3/4" circle to center of hydrant with dimensional. Attach top word window piece with dimensional.
Finished hydrant looks like this:

I used a paper piecing pattern from Precious Piecings for the pumpkins on my page. I made this before I got into punch art. I've seen some pretty cute punch art pumpkins online. The title was made with my Cricut and SCAL.

Hey all, this little owl punch was just begging to be made into a wise owl. I cut the slot punch in half and glued onto the black around the eyes to create the look of glasses. The wing is from the 2 step bird punch.
The sliding pop up card directions are HERE. I used a retired DSP. I love this paper so much, I wish I bought a lot more!
Sorry, I didn't have much surfing time yesterday, so my punch art finds of the day are pretty light today.

Hi all, I got all of my new stamps and had to use the "A Word For You" stamp set. There is a saying in the set that says "happy birthday with a cherry on top". I also got the new hostess set called Birthday Bakery. I was originally going to use the stamps for my main pop up, but I thought it would be really cute as a punch art piece.
Create the card using the Sliding Pop Up Card instructional.
For the punch art cake, you will need the following Stampin' Up! punches:
Small Tag
Scallop Square
Word Window
3/8" circle from the Punch Pack
I used a retired designer series paper. Sorry, I can't remember what it's called. The cardstock colors are real red, bashful blue and old olive. The ribbon is a 5/8" red satin.
1) Layer the 3 tags on top of each other to create the layers. Clip away the top of the green strip tag to even out the sections.
2) Cut away each end of one of the scallop squares for the middle layers of frosting. Cut away one side with a rounded top for the top of the cake.
3) Clip a sliver of old olive cardstock to create the cherry stem.
4) To create the cake stand, cut away a small curve out of the top of the word window. Cut off top corners of the tag punch to create a triangle.
5) Add frosting to cake with dimensionals. Add dazzling diamonds glitter to the frosting.
6) Attach the cherry with a glue dot. Add a little highlight with a uni-ball white gel pen.
Enjoy!

Playing with my brand new stamps! Here is another T-slide card using the Friends Fur-ever stamp set. The greetings are from Occasional Quotes (hostess) & Happy Everything. I used the new designer series papers called Elegant Soiree paired with navy and espresso cardstocks. The balloons have dazzling diamonds on them for some shimmer and are mounted with dimensionals.

I was so excited to get my big box of goodies from SU! yesterday. I had to bust into the box and make a card right away. Of course, it's a T-slide card. I used the new Best Bots Forever stamp set. The stamps are a little smaller than I remembered them being in the catalog. They are perfect for putting on the inside sliding piece.
For the background, I embossed a piece of basic gray cardstock with a sizzix folder. Sorry, I can't remember what it's called (the design really is random like that). Lightly brush the edges and tops of the embossed cardstock with a white craft pad to define the diamonds. I got to use the new luscious red taffetta ribbon as well. Oh, and you'll notice that the card is in vertical design when opened. You could try making the card as a vertical card where you pull the slider up or down instead.
I hope you like it!

I've had some people ask for a visual cutting and scoring aid for the T-slide card base. Below is a picture for your reference. This is for an A-2 size card.
In addition to the piece shown below, you will need the following pieces:
4 1/4" x 5 1/2" backing piece
1 1/2" x 3 3/4" sliding message piece (you can vary the width and the length can be as short as 3 1/4" and still work find in the slider) - score one end of the piece at 1/2"
1" x 4 1/2" & 1" x 3" for the T-Slide mechanism pieces
The assembly instructions are the same as my standard T-Slide. When cutting your slot for the sliding message, make sure that the top of the slot is 1/2" from the score line. One of my readers suggested using the word window punch to create the slot. This works perfectly if you line up the bottom of the word window about 1/8" above the score line. Thanks for the suggestion, KT Hom.
You can click on the photo for a bigger view. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Hello everyone, I'm excited that my T-Slide Tutorial is the feature on Split Coast Stampers for Technique Wednesday! Be sure to hop on over there to see my love birdie punch art that decorates my featured card.
Here is a T-Slide card I made with my newest cute birdie punch art creation.

Here is a T-Slide card I made with my newest cute birdie punch art creation.
Instructions for making the cute birdie:
You need the following Stampin' Up! punches:
Ornament punch in baja breeze for body
1 1/4" Circle punch for belly (I used a co'ordinations cardstock but you could sub for your color of choice)
Boho Blossoms for feet & feathers - punch 2 of the smallest flower out of pumpkin, tangerine or peach & 1 of the largest flower out of baja breeze
Heart of Hearts for beak - punch smallest heart out of pumpkin, tangerine or peach
2 Step Bird Punch for wings - punch 2 of the wings out of baja breeze
3/4" Circle in white for eyes
crop-a-dile for pupils in the eyes
Punch the pieces as pictured. Freehand cute a couple narrow strips of pumpkin for the legs.

1) Clip off the top of the ornament. Clip off 3 petals on each side of the baja colored boho blossom for the feathers on top of the head. Clip off 2 petals on each side of the pumpkin colored boho blossoms to create the feet. Clip away some of the paper between the remaining petals to create the toes.
2) Sponge the edges of the baja breeze pieces with marina mist ink. Sponge the edges of the pumpkin pieces with pumpkin ink.
3) Punch 2 black dots with the largest hole punch on the crop-a-dile. Glue onto the 2 white circles for the eyes. Glue the 2 eyes together, slightly overlapping. Glue the pumpkin strips onto the feet to create legs. Glue feathers onto top of head. Glue wings onto body. Glue belly patch onto body.
4) Attach beak with dimensional. Attach eyes above beak with dimensionals.
I used My Minds Eye designer paper to create the T-Slide card. The greetings are from the Stampin' Up! stamp set called "FYI".
Enjoy!
More inspiration for all of my readers.

Happy punching!
Hello everyone, I was notified that my T-Slide tutorial has been moved up to this weeks Technique Wednesday over at Split Coast Stampers. I'm trying to get several T-Slide cards into the gallery before then.
Here is my latest creation. I had some CTMH paper that I wanted to use. Turns out that the old in-colors Groovy Guava and True Thyme coordinated with this paper nicely. I watercolored with bear and raccoon with crumb cake and soft suede. I used the Under the Stars and Occasional Quotes (hostess) stamp sets.

Hello everyone, I made the unfortunate discovery today that someone was selling a kit for one of my pet designs today on ebay. In case my copyright policy isn't clear for everyone, I wanted to clarify.
At the top of the first page of each of my designs, I have the following text:
I am choosing to give the benefit of the doubt to the person who violated this policy. Perhaps they took a class and learned how to make this design and then decided to create a written instruction sheet to make it? I did ask them to remove their ebay listing.
I put a lot of work into my classes and when I learn that someone is profiting from my work, I'm very disappointed. If this individual was selling a finished card with my punch art design on it, I would not have a problem with this. But, this person was selling written instructions on how to make the punch art piecing with the pieces punched out of paper as a kit.
I'm hoping that all of my loyal readers do not feel that I am wrong in feeling very disappointed in this situation.
Thanks all for reading.
At the top of the first page of each of my designs, I have the following text:
Thank you for purchasing my instructions. You may use these ideas to teach students in a direct classroom setting. These written instructions are intended to be a guide for you to demonstrate the projects. They are not intended to be free hand-outs to your students (customers). If your students (customers) would like to have instructions of their own, please direct them to my blog to purchase the class. If you are teaching a class and would like to have handouts for each student, please contact me for a class rate and fee. This class is not intended for resale by anyone. You may not use them to teach in an online or email setting. You may not use these ideas to recreate, in whole or in part, a written or video tutorial to be shared online, via email or directly with anyone. Please do not show any of these instructions on your blog or website. If you create a card using my punched creations and post a picture on your blog or website, please link to my site for order instructions. Please do not share instructions or punch recipes (in whole or in part) on your website. Sharing in this manner devalues my class. Please respect all of the time and effort I put into designing these projects. Thank you

Good morning everyone! I made a Sliding Pop Up card for a friend that's expecting a baby later this month. The stamps are from a Stampin' Up! set called Build-a-Roo. The designer papers are from CTMH. I like the blues and pinks since it can be used together for a unisex look.
Sorry I haven't posted any new punch art for a while. I've been so busy with designing tutorials for SCS. My T-Slide tutorial will go live on July 21st Technique Wednesday.
I'm currently working on a calendar desk set with 12 months of punchies. This is a big undertaking and it's taking longer than I anticipated. I'm eager to play with my new SU punches that will be arriving next week. Until then, you'll probably be seeing more stamped cards than punched cards. I have to make more samples for my T-Slide gallery so there will be several more of those posted in the next 2 weeks.
Thanks everyone for being loyal readers! I surpassed 1,000 email subscribers this week. WOOHOO!

Hello everyone! my newest technique is here. This technique will be featured on Technique Wednesday on Split Coast Stampers in January 2011. It looks complicated but is very easy to make.
Instructions:
1) Score the following pieces as follows:

Pumpkin Patch
Happy Lashes Snowman
Raggedy Andy
Easter Bunny
Forest Festivities
Please see the video tutorial HERE.
Cardstock Pieces Needed:
5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card base (marina mist)
5 3/8" x 4" pop up back piece (bashful blue)
1 1/2" x 9" sliding wrap (pear pizazz)
1 1/2" x 2 1/2" pop up piece (bashful blue)
1" x 2 3/4" card back prop piece (marina mist)
1/2" x 1 1/2" pop up prop piece (bashful blue)
round tab punch (or substitute) for the pull tab (marina mist)
You need to use a sturdy cardstock for these pieces. I used Stampin' Up! cardstocks. The pear and bashful blue is their textured and the marina mist is the smooth finish. For the wrap piece (pear), you could use a piece of designer series paper or a thinner paper since this doesn't have to support weight on any of the pieces.
Instructions:
1) Score the following pieces as follows:
- 5 3/8" x 4" - score at 1 1/2"
- 1 1/2" x 9" - score at 2" & 6 1/4"
- 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" - score at 1/2"
- 1" x 2 3/4" - score at 1/2" on each end
- 1 1/2" x 1/2" - score at 1/2" on each end
2) Put strong adhesive on the pop up piece, pop up prop piece and card back prop piece. I recommend sticky strip or scor tape. Put the adhesive next to the score line. For the 1" x 2 3/4" piece, the tape goes on one end, flip over to the wrong side and put tape on the other end.

3) Put adhesive on the pop up back piece as shown. One line of tape along the score line and the other along the bottom. Adhere the wrap piece with the bottom edges of the pieces lined up. There will be about 1/8" from each edge of the bashful blue piece to the score lines on the wrap.
4) Tape on the pop up piece centered at the score line as shown.

5) Adhere the pop up prop piece centered on the score line of the pop up piece as shown.
Fold the pop up prop piece to the right as shown and peel the backing off the sticky strip.

Carefully hold this little piece in place. Grab the pop up back to the right and fold over and press down to adhere to the little prop piece.
When you open it back up, it should look like this:

6) Push the pieces flat and then flip it over. Tape the wrap in place. Make sure that it is not adhered to the back of the bashful blue piece. It needs to be free sliding.

7) Flip the card back over. Grab the pop up back piece and fold over to the left to allow access to the back of it. Tape the back prop piece centered with the score line on one end about 1" from the edge of the card base piece as shown.

Take the backing off the tape on the other end of the prop. Make sure that the sliding wrap piece is lined up at the bottom edge of your card base piece (marina mist) and then flatten the pop up back piece back down on top of the prop piece as shown.

Now, when you slide the green wrap piece to the right, the back of the card will automatically pop up as shown below.

This view is the front of the card in the open position. Attach the pull tab on the bottom of the card base and write "pull" on it.

8) Decorate your card as desired. For my card, I used a MFT clouds die to cut some clouds out of shimmery white cardstock and attached them with dimensionals. Then I used an MFT grass die to cut 2 strips of grass. I attached the bottom edge of one piece to the pop up piece as shown. Then, I attached my tree to the bottom of the pop up piece and then attached another strip of grass over the top of that. The wonderful tree and owls are from the Sheltering Tree stamp set by My Favorite Things.

I stamped 2 greetings. One on the card base that will show up when the card is open and one on the sliding wrap piece that shows when the card is closed/open. If you wanted to, you could wrap a ribbon or even add other embellishments to the front of the wrap piece.
I hope you all have as much fun making a sliding pop up card as I did!!!! Looking forward to seeing your creations. If you make a card, please post a link here in the comments. Also, please post a link on your blog or SCS gallery to my site for the step by step instructions. THANKS!
