Peachy Keen September Release Blog Hop

Welcome to the Peachy Keen September Release blog hop!  If you started the hop at the PKS Challenge Blog, then you should have hopped her from Viv’s blog.  If you arrived here first, be sure to hop on over to the PKS Challenge Blog to catch the first 2 stops of the hop. My hop card features the new face set called Snow Cuties (PK-500 & PK-501).  Instructions for making this card is below the blog hop button.  I'm also excited that my design is one of the new CottageCutz dies called Herby.  You can see him HERE. There are so many other AWESOME new halloween dies. You just have to see them all HERE.  Also, be sure to leave a comment here, as I'll be drawing a random name to win the Snow Cuties Assortment stamp set, courtesy of PKS!  The other DT members are also offering goodies, so be sure to check out all of the stops on the blog hop. Oh, and don't forget to start at the PKS Challenge blog.  If you leave a comment there, you could win a Copic Marker Set!!

INSTRUCTIONS:
All punches used are Stampin’ Up!
(sorry, the pictures look a little "yellow", not sure what happened)

Snowboy:
Punch 2 1/2” Circle, 1 3/4” Circle & Ornament in textured white.
For arm, punch half of the Medium Oval, then line up the Large Oval over the top of the punched hole and punch the arm as shown.  Round out the sharp edges of the punched arm. Punch 3/4” Circle for one hand.

Punch 1 1/4” Square in black, Word Window in black and one third of the 1 1/4” Square in a color of choice for the hat band.  Use the Crop-a-dile to punch 3 of the smallest circles for the holly berries.  Cut 2 small rectangles.  Use a 1/4” circle and punch around the outer edges to create the holly leaves.  Punch 3 of the 1/4” Circles for buttons and the smallest heart from Heart to Heart for the chest.

Stamp the snowboy face onto the ornament using the Snow Cuties 1 1/8” stamp (PK-501).  Sponge the edges of the white pieces with soft sky ink.  Attach the 1 3/4” Circle at the top of the 2 1/2” circle with dimensionals.  Attach the head to the body with dimensionals.  Glue hat band onto hat.  Clip away a little on each side at an angle so that the square is narrower at the bottom.  Attach the word window onto the square with dimensionals.  Glue holly leaves and berries onto hat.  Attach hat to head with dimensionals.  Attach arm and heart with dimensional.  Glue on buttons.

Snowgirl:
Punch 1 3/4” Circle, 1 3/8” Circle & 1 1/4” Circle in textured white.
For arm, punch half of the 3/4” Circle, then line up the Small Oval over the top of the punched hole and punch the arm like you did for the snowboy.  Round out the sharp edges of the punched arm.  Make 2 arms.

Stamp the snowgirl face onto the 1 1/4” Circle using the Snow Cuties Assortment stamps 1” size (PK-500).  Sponge the edges of the white pieces with soft sky ink.  Attach the 1 3/8” Circle at the top of the 1 3/4” circle with dimensionals.  Attach the head to the body with dimensionals (tilt the head towards the snowboy).  Attach the arms and heart with dimensionals.  Attach snowgirl to front of snowboy with dimensionals.  Attach snowboy hand onto snowgirl shoulder with dimensional.

Card Assembly:

For the basic card assembly, follow the instructions for a Tent Card in the SCS Resources Section HERE.  For card base, cut 5 1/2” x 11” baha breeze cardstock.  For inside of card, cut 5 1/2” x 4”.   I used a retired Stampin’ Up! DSP called Ski Slope.  The new Stampin’ Up! DSP called Candy Cane would be a great substitute.  Cut striped paper for the front  5 1/4” x 5 1/4”.  Cut snowflake print for inside 5 1/4” x 5 1/4”.  I used the Nestabilities Petite Circles (largest) and the Nestabilities Scallop Circle (largest) for the window on the front.  The greeting from SU! Bright Christmas is stamped in real red and cut out with the Nestabilities Mega Ovals.  You can’t see in the picture, but the words are outlined with a stardust pen to add shimmer.  Card is embellished with the SU! Red satin ribbon.

Blog Candy Challenge Winner!

Hello all, once again I jumped over to random.org to get the winning number of my Blog Candy Challenge.  And the lucky winning number was......

13

And I thought 13 was an unlucky number?!

Congratulations to Patrice Herrera (who also had AWESOME projects to share in the challenge).  Patrice, please email me at needmorestamps@yahoo.com to give me your mailing address.  You will have so much fun stamping with this PKS stamp set!

birthday bear - Mojo Monday 157

This is the first card I've made for the Mojo Monday challenge blog.  They have such great card sketches! I was in the mood to do a little watercoloring.  My daughter was invited to her first kid party and this is a special birthday card for her friend.  The bear stamp is from Lili of the Valley (these are such sweet stamps!).  The greeting is Stampin Up Birthday Bliss.  I watercolored with Stampin' Up colors.  The designer papers are from the DCWV Citrus stack.  I wish you could see this card in person.  The papers have glittered swirls and the birthday cake & greeting is all glittery.  I used my new favorite ribbon - the Stampin Up! In Colors poly ribbon (poppy).

blog candy challenge reminder

Hello everyone, just a reminder that you have until tomorrow night to enter my blog candy challenge for the PKS stamp set. Enter the challenge here:

http://www.paperpunchaddiction.com/2010/09/blog-candy-challenge.html

You don't need a blog to enter the challenge. You just need to upload your entry to a public photo albumn that others can view. Good places to do this is on Split Coast Stampers, Picasa, Flickr or Photobucket (my personal pick).

I use Photobucket because they give you the URL to copy and paste for sharing online with other people. Here is the website. It's free to sign up and super easy to use!

http://photobucket.com/

I don't have a lot of entries for the contest yet, so your chances are very good that you could win the prize.  This is a random drawing out of all entrants, not a judged contest.  Also, this challenge is open to ALL of my readers in the U.S. AND Internationally.  This is your chance to get some Peachy Keen stamps to dress up your punch art!

diaper darling scrapbook page

These pictures were taken when Lilly was 6 months old.  I LOVE this Stampin' Up! DSP.  Too bad it was discontinued.  But, I did manage to get 3 full packages before it retired (and I've already used half of it).  For all of you card makers out there, I will be sharing more cards soon.  I have 3 challenges I'm trying to get prepared for and I'm still working on my holiday class.  I work full-time, so I can only work on it in the evenings after Lilly goes to bed.  Thanks for your patience!

holiday scrapbook layout

Here are a couple more pages.  I wished I had scanned some of these pages and stitched them since I had some bowing of the cardstock when I stood them up to photograph them in my cube.  Lilly was only 2 in these photos.

Discovering the Daisy scrapbook layout and MORE INFO

Good morning everyone! I finally got around to photographing some of my scrapbook pages.  I'll be posting a layout every day for a few days in addition to all of my other posts.  On the punching horizon, I have some fabulous projects coming up in the next week for the Peachy Keen new release party and the next PKS Challenge.  You won't want to miss these ones!  Also, I'm still working on my new holiday collection.  It's taking me a little longer than anticipated but I'm hoping to have it out by the middle of October.  Be sure to check back on Thursday when I announce the winner of my Blogoversary drawing HERE!  And, there is still time to share your halloween/autumn themed project (stamped or punched) for a PKS stamp set HERE.

These pictures were taken when Lilly was only 9 months old.  She is discovering my daisies in the back yard. I wish you could see this page in person.  The papers are deeply embossed with daisies and the daisy flowers on the page were punched in shimmery white.

Here is a close-up of the title on page one.  The D is a chipboard letter that has been sponged with mellow moss craft ink.  Then, I stamped "too cute for words" along the one side of the letter.  The daisies are made with the Stampin' Up! 5-Petal flower punch (layer 2) and there is a yellow jewel brad in the center.  The leaves are mellow moss grosgrain ribbon. The letters were stamped with a Stampin' Up! alphabet set

Blog Candy Challenge

Hello everyone!  I have some Peachy Keen goodies to share!  I got my design team package today and I'm so excited that I got some stamp sets to share with my readers in the coming months.  To kick off the fun, I wanted to share one of my all time favorite stamp sets.  It is the first face set I used on a project HERE.  The set is called Pumpkin Faces.  Not only is is great for jack-o-lanterns, but it works great for ghosts and monsters as well.  This is a must-have face set for your halloween projects!

This weeks "Let's Face It Fridays" challenge is underway HERE.  If you already entered this challenge, you can also enter mine for a chance to win.  You don't need a PKS set to enter my challenge.  Maybe you are a PKS fan but haven't started collecting?  Now is your chance to start by winning a set for free!  So, for my challenge, simply share one of your halloween or autumn creations.  It can be stamped, punch art, treat containers, cards, scrapbook pages, altered items, whatever you want to share!  Please share a NEW creation that is newly posted on your blog or in a public photo gallery like Split Coast Stampers.  On Friday the 24th, I will randomly draw a name from all of the entrants and they will win the PKS Pumpkin Faces stamp set!  All of my readers are eligible, including all of my international readers.  Come join the fun and share your halloween or autumn creations.  In the Mr. Linky widget below, please add your name and URL link to your entry.  If you are linking to your blog, please link directly to the blog post and not just your homepage.  Please also leave a comment on this blog post so that I may contact you if you win.  Thanks!

Panda Bear pop up gift card

Hello everyone, are you ready for some more punchy goodness?  My niece and daughter were born just a few days apart, so she will also be turning 4.  I made this pop up gift card holder with a cute punch art panda on the front.  The tutorial for the bear and pop up card is detailed below.  Want to dress up your cute little punch art bear?  Check out my Bear for All Seasons & Build a Bear punch art classes for many outfits and costumes.

Punch Art Bear Instructions (bear only):

Pieces needed (punched out using all Stampin' Up! punches):
Ornament in white - HEAD
1 3/4" Circle in white - BODY
Medium Ovals in black - PAWS, EARS
Medium Oval in white - MUZZLE
Modern Label in black - ARMS & LEGS
Butterfly in black - FEET
Heart to Heart in basic gray  - FEET
crop-a-dile in basic gray - FEET

1) Cut butterfly in half and bottom of wings off to create feet (as shown).  Round out sharp corners on feet pieces.  Lightly sponge the edges of the black pieces with craft white ink.

2) Cut the top off the ornament and round out the pointy bottom.  Lightly sponge the edges of the white pieces with basic gray ink.  Stamp the face with black onto the ornament using the Peachy Keen Tear Bear Face Parts stamp set (panda face).  Stamp the nose and mouth parts onto the white medium oval.  Use a fine line zig pen to draw a little circle "o" mouth onto the muzzle.  Use a sponge and pretty in pink chalks to add some blush to the cheeks.  With this face set, you don't even have to add any white highlights to the eyes and nose.  Attach the muzzle to the face with a dimensional (line up the muzzle over the stamped nose on the ornament).

3) Glue ears onto back of head.  Attach head to body with dimensional.  Attach arms onto back of body with dimensionals.  Attach paws with dimensionals.

4) For feet, glue smallest heart onto foot pad.  Use the crop-a-dile to punch the smallest circles out of basic gray cardstock and glue on toe pads.  Attach legs to body with dimensionals.  Attach feet to legs with dimensionals.

Pop Up Gift Card Assembly:

1) Cut the following pieces:
8 1/2" x 5 1/2" folded in half for card base
2 pieces cut at 5 1/2" x 3 1/2", on both pieces, score along the short side at 1", 2" & 3"
Die cut the scallop envelope using the Stampin' Up! Sizzix die.  If you don't have this die, you can make an envelope the size of the gift card, or simply use the little envelope the gift card comes in.  Glue the sides in place on the scallop envelope.

1) Apply scor tape along the 1" score line on one of the pop up pieces.  Attach to the inside of the card base with the edge of the pop up piece lined up with the center crease of the card. Apply scor tape along the 3" score line. Holding card base at a 90 degree angle, adhere the pop up piece onto the inside of the card.  It should form a little "chair" on the inside of the card.  Make sure the card closes flat before securing the score tape in place.

2)  Attach the little gift card envelop to the front of the "chair" as shown.

3) Apply scor tape along the 1" score line on the other pop up piece.  Adhere to the front of the pop up piece, covering the bottom front of the little envelope.  Apply scor tape along 3" score line and adhere to inside of card, the same as before.  Make sure that the card is closing flat when adhering the pop up piece.

4) Decorate inside of card.  I stamped the greeting from Well Scripted stamp set and punched out with wide oval and mounted onto Decorative Label.  Tie the 1/8" pink taffeta ribbon around the little envelope to keep the flap closed.  The designer papers I used are from My Minds Eye and it's called Deena's Penny Lane.  The paper is so much prettier in person because it has glitter all over it.  Cut a 12" x 3 1/2" belly band to wrap around the outside of the card to keep it closed.  Tie the poly twill blushing bride ribbon around the outside belly band and mount the panda with dimensionals on the belly band.

I'm back from my retreat.  I had a great time, ate too much but didn't make as much as I thought I would!  I did get my PKS challenge for this coming friday done and a couple new punch art pieces for my new holiday class. If you are a member of my yahoo group, you have seen most of these links already, thanks to Judy.   I thought the rest of my readers would enjoy these ideas.

Assembly Instructions:

1) To create face, first punch half of the medium oval in ruby red.  Line up the 1 3/8" circle over the top and punch the crescent shape.  Round out the flat edges.

2) For the arms, first punch the small oval in ruby red.  Line up the large oval over the top of the punched hole and punch the arm as shown.  Punch 2 of these.  Round out the ends.

3)  Punch out the rest of the pieces.  Clip one of the small ovals and the large ovals as shown. Clip the petals apart on the 5-Petal flowers.  Clip 2 petals off each medium boho blossom to create the paws. Clip off the points on the decorative label.  Clip 2 petals of the large boho blossom off to create teeth.

4) Sponge the edges of the ruby red pieces with riding hood red ink.  Sponge the edges of the so saffron pieces with more mustard ink.  Sponge the edges of the soft suede pieces with soft suede ink.

5) Glue the eye layers together.  Add highlights with a white uniball gel pen.  Glue teeth onto face piece.  Glue the black mouth piece onto back of face piece.  Glue on tongue piece and clip away excess.  Draw detail with zig pen. Attach eyes to face with dimensionals.

6) Attach belly to body piece with dimensional.  Attach face to top of body with dimensional.  Glue large oval onto center of 1 3/4" ruby red piece to create the back. Glue the back onto back of saffron body piece.

7) To create the tail, glue the whole small oval onto the wide oval.  Glue the clipped small oval onto the small oval.  Glue tail onto body.  Glue spikes onto top of head, down back and along tail.

Baby scrapbook page

I finally got around to photographing some pages from my scrapbook.  This is the first page in the first scrapbook when my daughter Lillianna was born.

Dancing Penguins Pop Up Stage

Hi all, my pop up stage tutorial is this week's technique challenge over at SCS.  If you would like to play along, the challenge number is TLC289.  The thread is located HERE.  My pop up stage tutorial is located HERE.

This is my entry into the challenge.  I got to use my new Cottage Cutz Penguin Doll.  This is a set of dies with Peachy Keen faces.  I cut the bodies out of textured black, textured white and textured pumpkin.  Sponge the edges of black with white craft ink, the white pieces with going gray and the pumpkin pieces with cajun craze inks.  Their scarfs are real red, celery & marina mist taffeta ribbon.  I also got to try out the polar white flower soft.  The snow drifts were created by tearing pieces of shimmery white cardstock and applying some glue along the tops of the drifts and adding flower soft (I wish you could see this in the picture, it's so much prettier in person!).  The designer papers are from a Stampin' Up! DSP called Candy Cane Christmas.  The card body is made from baja breeze and the stage is shimmery white cardstock.  I created a belly band to wrap around the outside of the card to keep it closed and embellished with red satin ribbon.
