As a special treat, I am going to offer some blog candy today.  Leave a comment on this post by Sunday at midnight.  On Monday, I will do a random.org drawing and the winner will get a digital copy of my Spring Fling punch art class (details HERE).  Please make sure that you either have an email on your profile or you leave your email with comment so that I can contact you if you win.  Thanks and good luck!

Sorry I didn't have time to do a picture tutorial but I think this one will be easy enough for you all to figure out.  You need the following Stampin' Up! punches:

1-3/4" Scallop Circles punched in Shimmery White and Razzleberry (3 per flower)
1" Circle (for face) in So Saffron
Blossoms Petal (for leaves) in Wild Wasabi (3 large petals per flower)
Word window (cut in half and glued end to end) for stem in Wild Wasabi

Fold the blossom petal in half and sponge the fold to create the vein on the leaf.  Sponge edges of leaves with old olive ink. Sponge edges of So Saffron with mustard ink.  Stamp faces with black staz on. Add whites to eyes with uniball white gel pen, brush on cheeks with stipple brush and regal rose ink.

Punch 3 scallops and clip each scallop towards the center. Layer on top of each other with a dimensional for depth.  Attach the face with a dimensional.  Create 3 leaves and glue together at base.  Glue on stem and glue flower head to stem.

The card base is 7" x 10" Bashful Blue folded in half so that the final card dimension is 5" x 7".

Clouds (shimmery white) and grass (pear pizzazz and wild wasabi) were created using Die-namics by My Favorite Things. Layer clouds using dimensionals.  Attach flowers to card with dimensionals.  Glue grass at bottom of card over flowers.

Recommended Peachy Keen stamps

Do you find yourself confused about what size and kinds of stamps you should buy when you get to the site?  Here are my suggestions for what to consider when picking the sets you want:

1)  What size head will your punch art or piecing have?  If you are using the 1-3/8" or larger circle or the Ornament punch, then the 1 1/8" or medium size (3" - 4" size figures) sets work perfectly.  Most of my free PKS tutorials here on the site use this size stamps. Following is my suggested list of 1-1/8" and medium sets:

PK-441 Cute & Cuddly 1-1/8"
PK-491 Everyday Character Faces 1-1/8"
PK-451 Wide Eyed Kids 1-1/8"
PK-758 Wide Eyed & Bushy Tailed 1-1/8"
PK-139 Tear Bear Face Parts
PK-754 Critter Faces Set A
PK-501 Snow Cuties 1-1/8"
PK-461 Happy Lashes 1-1/8"
PK-134 Bird Faces and More
PK-138 Kitty Tear Face Parts
PK-643 Boy Mates 1-1/8"
PK-641 Princess Faces 1-1/8"
PK-493 Everyday Character Face Parts 3" to 4"
PK-681 Retro Paper Doll Faces 1-1/8"
PK-673 Rag Doll Face 3" to 4"

You may not be able to afford all of them at once, but if you had all of these sets, you would have a very nice and thorough variety of sets that would work with boys, girls, men, women and all sorts of animals plus holiday figures like snowmen, gingerbread, easter bunny, etc.

2) If you want to work with smaller figures that require a head that is 1-1/4" wide or smaller, then you should go with the Assortment sets which have a large variety of stamp sizes in them.  Obviously, these sets are more expensive but you get a lot more stamps in the set.  If you are considering an Assortment set, my most recommended set is the PK-490 Everyday Character Faces Assortment.  I use this set the most and have used the assortment for all of my smaller figures.

3) On the market for some holiday face stamps?  Here are my top picks:
PK-693 Monster Mash Faces 1-1/8"
PK-691 Make a Monster Faces 1-1/8"
PK-550 Pumpkin Faces
PK-501 Snow Cuties 1-1/8"
PK-461 Happy Lashes 1-1/8"
PK-471 Happy New Year 1-1/8"
PK-521 Winter Faces 1-1/8"

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?  GET OVER TO PKS AND GET YOUR STAMPS!

Peachy Keen Spring Stamp Release blog hop

Another fantastic new Peachy Keen stamp release is here!  If you arrived here from Viv's site, you are on the right track.  If not, please start at the beginning of the hop HERE.  My assigned set is Cute & Cuddly (PK-440 & PK-441).  The instructions for creating this sliding pop up card is below the blog hop list.  Want a chance to win some stamps?  Be sure to leave a comment here and on the other hops along the way. Please note that I will be out of town with no internet access during this hop.  I have temporarily set my comments to unmoderated with word verification.

Click here to visit Lorie's awesome blog.

If you got lost in the hop, here is the list of hoppers.

Instructions to make the Easter bunny sliding pop up card:
Bunny and Basket Punch Art Instructions:
1) For the bunny, punch the following pieces out of card stock color of choice (I used Iced Cocoa by Coredinations, Pink Pirouette and Shimmery White by Stampin' Up!):
1 3/8" Circle for Head
Ornament for Body
Blossom Petals for Ears (large petal for outside and small petal for inside)
Medium Ovals for Legs & Feet
3/4" Circles for Paws
2-Step Cupcake for Tail

2) Clip off top of ornament and cut off bottom of 2 medium ovals.  Sponge the edges tan colored pieces with cocoa ink.  Sponge the edges of pink pieces with regal rose ink.  Stamp the Cute & Cuddly face with black Staz On ink.  Add white to eyes with unibal white gel pen.  Add blush to cheeks with stipple brush and rose ink.  Color nose with rose ink and blender pen.

3) Glue ears to head.  Attach legs to back of body with dimensionals.  Attach feet to legs with dimensionals.  Attach paws to front of body with dimensionals.  Attach head with dimensionals.  Attach tail onto back of body with dimensionals.

4) For the basket, cut 3 strips of creamy caramel card stock 1/4" x 6".  Punch or cut one square 1 3/8" x 1 3/8".  Use mini glue dots to attach each end of 1/4" strips on the square (make sure to not adhere the strips in the middle.  Clip off the excess strip pieces from the square.  Turn the square 90 degrees and adhere 3 more strips.  For the first strip, slide the strip under the first strip on the square then over the middle and under the 3rd strip.  For the next strip, start at the top then under the middle strip and on top of the third.  For the last strip, weave it on like the first.  Clip off excess strip pieces.  The finished square should look like a woven basket.  Corner round punch the 2 bottom corners.  Take excess strip pieces and cut to 2 3/4" length.  Fold in half and round out the unfolded ends to form a basket handle.  Make 2 of these.  Sponge the edges of basket and handle with cocoa ink.

5) Punch out 5 wide hearts from Heart to Heart in assorted colors.  I used the new Glitter paper available from Peachy Keen Stamps.  Cut the hearts in half.  Use glue dots to attach 5 of the heart halves onto the back of the basket.  Slip a handle onto each side of the basket.  Pierce a hole through the handle and basket. Attach a mini black brad. Attach the other handle.

6) Die cut 2 strips of light green glitter paper and 2 strips dark moss glitter paper (Peachy Keen) using the grass Dienamics die from My Favorite Things.  Round out the ends of the other 5 heart halves to create eggs. Die cut clouds in Shimmery White card stock using Dienamics die from My Favorite Things.

Card Assembly:
1) Cut and score the following pieces for the sliding pop up card:
Card Base - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Certainly Celery
Pop Up Back - 4" x 5 3/8" Baja Breeze scored at 1 1/2"
Prop for Pop Up Back - 1" x 2 3/4" Baja Breeze scored at 1/2" on each end
Sliding Wrap - 1 1/2" x 9" Certainly Celery designer series paper (or other celery colored paper)
Pop Up Back for Bunny -  1" x 3" Baja Breeze scored at 1"
Pop Up Mechanism for Bunny - 1/2" x 2" Baja Breeze scored at 1/2" on each end
Pop Up Back for Basket - 1" x 1 1/2" Baja Breeze scored at 1/2"
