Peachy Keen LFIF Challenge #12

The Let's Face it Friday Challenge this week was to create a project featuring handmade flowers and our PKS faces, of course.  I wanted to create a bunny in the carrot patch so I brought out my trusty Tear Bear Face Parts set which I think I use the most.  I love the eyes and noses in this set!  Jump on over to the challenge site HERE to check out the other great projects that the DT members cooked up.  If you have a PKS face set, play along in the challenge for a chance to win the 1 1/8" Happy Lashes and Dolly Dumplin face sets.

Assembly Instructions:

For the bunny, punch the following pieces out of shimmery white card stock:
(1) 1 1/4" Circle - HEAD
(2) Blossom Petals (large) - EARS
(1) Blossom Petals (jumbo) - BODY
(2) Medium Ovals - FEET
(2) 1/2" Circles - PAWS
Punch 2 small Blossom Petals in Pink Pirouette for insides of ears

Cut the bottoms off medium ovals for feet.  Sponge the edges of inside ear pieces with Regal Rose ink.  Stamp the eyes with Black Staz On ink.  Stamp the nose with Regal Rose ink.  Draw line under nose with zig pen.  Stipple regal rose ink into cheeks.  Glue feet onto back of body.  Glue ear pieces together and glue to back of head.  Attach head to body with dimensional.  Attach paws to body with dimensionals.

For the rest of the card, punch the following pieces:
(2) sets of Boho Blossoms in Pink Pirouette
(2) sets of Boho Blossoms in Baja Breeze
(1) set of Boho Blossoms in Daffodil Delight
(5) branches from 2-Step Bird in Certainly Celery
(4) small petals from Blossom Petals in Pumpkin Pie
(1) Snowflake in Garden Green

Die cut 2 strips of grass using the MFT grass die (use both pieces from the cut).  Die cut one in Certainly Celery and the other in Old Olive.  Cut a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock 1" x 2 1/2".

Cut 4 sides off snowflake piece and trim to create carrot tops. Sponge edges of pink pirouette pieces with regal rose ink.  Sponge pieces of baja breeze with Marina Mist ink.  Sponge pieces of daffodil with More Mustard ink.  Sponge edges of pumpkin pieces with Cajun Craze ink.  Sponge edges of garden green pieces with garden green ink.  Sponge edges of certainly celery and old olive pieces with Garden Green ink.  Tear top of chocolate chip piece to look like a patch of dirt.  Sponge edges with Early Espresso ink.

Layer the flower pieces with liquid glue.  Attach a self adhesive pearl or rhinestone in the center of each flower.  Glue tops on carrots.  Put one carrot in the bunny's paws.  Glue the other 3 carrots onto the back of the dirt heap piece.  Glue a celery grass piece onto the front of an olive grass piece.  Create 2 sections of grass.  On the back section of grass, glue the branch pieces onto the back for the flower stems and trim away excess.

Card Assembly:
Baja Breeze card stock 6" x 8 1/2" card base folded in half.
Soft Sky card stock 5 7/8 x 4" for card front
Attach front to card base.  Glue back grass section to front of card about 1/2" from bottom of card.  Attach flower heads to stems with dimensionals.  Attach bunny with dimensionals.  Attach front section of grass in front of bunny with dimensionals.  Attach dirt patch on top with dimensionals.  Stamp greeting from "Bring on the Cake" with marina mist ink on shimmery white card stock.  Punch out with Modern Label punch.  Cut off left edge of label and glue to card.  Attach a jewel brad.

Craft Project Central Guest Designer

I need to play catch-up with the projects already featured this month, so I'll be posting a few projects today. Please take a moment to check out the site, they have lots of great tutorials! You can visit the subscription site HERE.  All of the projects I am showing today are available in the March subscription.

I will be posting pictures of my project when it goes live on the site.  Thanks!

Peachy Keen LFIF Challenge #11

Thanks for visiting me today and checking out the Let's Face it Friday Challenge.  Be sure to check out the other great ideas at the Challenge Site HERE.

The Challenge:
Create a project (can be a card, scrapbook layout, altered item, etc.) with either real or faux stitching.

Play along at the challenge site for a change to win an assortment of Peachy Keen Stamps (winner's choice)!!!!  What an awesome prize!  All you need to do is go to the challenge site and link a new project by March 17th.  Please be sure to link DIRECTLY to your project and not just to the homepage/album.

I decided to make a Sunshine card.  Mr. Sunshine was created using the Peachy Keen Everyday Character Faces Assortment (PK-490).

Stamp the largest face with black Staz On ink on Summer Sun cardstock,  Punch out the face using a 1 3/4" Circle punch.  Add white to the eyes with a white unibal gel pen.  Add blush to the cheeks with a stipple brush and regal rose ink.  Cut a strip of summer sun cardstock 3" wide.  Using your paper cutter (or scissors), cut strips of cardstock for the sun rays.  Make sure to angle the cuts so they are narrower on one end.  Follow the same process with a contrasting yellow.  I used a glitter coated Coordinations cardstock.  Glue the smaller strips onto the larger strips.  Glue the rays onto the sun and then use a circle cutter or die to cut a circle around the sun.  I offset the cut so the sun was in the upper right corner.

The layout of my card is a scallop circle easel.  Basic instructions are located HERE.  After cutting my sun, I cut another circle the same size in soft sky (which was embossed with the stampin up lattice folder).  Mount the sun on the blue circle with dimensionals.  Cut a larger circle in melon mambo and die cut a scallop circle for the base.  For this card, I used the sizzix scallop circle as detailed in the basic instructions linked above.  After gluing the melon circle onto my glitter strip scallop circle, I zig zag stitched all the way around the circle then mounted the sun circle piece.

PKS LFIF Challenge 10 Think Spring

Today is another Peachy Keen Let's Face it Friday challenge.  Challenge #10 was for us to create a spring inspired handmade gift featuring a PKS face stamp.  I finally got to use 2 of my Peachy Keen sets that I know I'll be using frequently over the next 2 months!  My little quacker was created with the Peachy Keen Bird Faces and More stamp set (PK-134).  The greeting is from the Peachy Keen Duck Dolls set (PK-266).  Please be sure to check out the other great projects at the challenge site HERE.  If you play along, you could win 3 bottles of limited edition Tattered Angels glimmer mist.  Instructions for my little quacker are below.
Little Quacker Instructions:
1) Punch the following pieces:

1 1/4" Circle in So Saffron for head
1 large petal from Blossom Petals in So Saffron for body
2 medium petals from Blossom Petals in So Saffron for wings
2 Word Windows in Peach Parfait for legs
2 small wide petals from Blossom Petals in Peach Parfait for feet
1 small Boho Blossom in So Saffron for head
2 - 1/2" Circles and 2 small Boho Blossoms in So Saffron for wing tips (optional to use with sign)

2) Sponge the edges of all saffron pieces with more mustard ink.  Trim off the pointed ends on the feet pieces.  Sponge the edges of all peach pieces with pumpkin pie ink.

3) Stamp duck bill and eyes onto face with black staz on ink.  Add whites to eyes with uni-ball white gel pen. Color bill with peach parfait and pumpkin pie markers.  Add blush to cheeks with stipple brush and regal rose ink.

4) Glue word windows onto small petals.  Glue legs onto body.  Glue wings onto body.  Attach head with dimensional.  Glue boho blossom onto top of head.  If you create a sign for the duck to hold, fold each small boho blossom in half and glue onto 1/2" Circle (wing tips).  Sponge edges of wing tips with mustard ink and attach on sign as shown in the picture above.

Box was created using the Stampin' Up! Sizzix Mini Milk Carton die.  I cut 2 and put them end to end to make a larger box.

Cupid Assembly Instructions:

1) Punch the following pieces using Stampin' Up! punches:

3 Scallop Circles (1 3/4") in So Saffron - HAIR

4 Medium Ovals in Blushing Bride - SHOULDERS & HANDS
2 Birds from 2 Step Bird in white glitter coated cardstock - WINGS
8 small petals from Blossom Petals (occassions mini) in white glitter cardstock - WINGS

2)  Cut one of the scallop circles in half and then one of the halves in half.  Trim the top off the ornament and round out the bottom.  Round out the bottoms of the small hearts.  Stamp the face onto ornament using the Peachy Keen Wide Eyed Kids (PK-451) stamp set and black Staz On pad.  Add white to eyes with uni-ball white gel pen.  Color in mouth with black zig and color tongue with red marker.  Add blush to cheeks with stipple brush and regal rose ink.

3) Sponge the edges of all blushing bride pieces with blushing bride ink.  Sponge edges of all saffron pieces with more mustard ink.  Glue ears onto head.  Glue 1/4 scallop circle pieces onto head as shown.  Trim away excess along the top of the head.

4) Glue other half of scallop circle onto back top of head. Glue neck onto head.  Glue 2 full scallop circles onto back of head & neck.  Glue medium ovals onto top of modern label arm pieces.  Glue head/neck onto body.  Attach arms to back of body with dimensionals.  Glue petals onto birds to form wings.  Attach wings to back of body with dimensionals.

5) Fold 2 medium ovals in half and attach to ends of arms.  You can place objects in the hands and glue the ovals closed.  I cut 2 narrow strips of glitter cardstock and attached small hearts onto the ends to create arrows.  I also added a small heart to the chest.  Attach cupid to back of mailbox or back of other box or packaging.
