Please keep in mind that you actually HAVE TO GO TO THE BLOG to see these links. You can't just click on the links in my email (if you are subscribed to my email list) or click on links in an RSS reader (like google reader).

Happy Birthday Angelica!

Raggedy Ann Step by Step Instructions

1) Punch the following pieces using Stampin' Up! punches:

4 Word Windows in blushing bride (arms, legs and neck)

1 1/4" Circle in blushing bride (head)

2 - 1/2" Circles in blushing bride (hands)

2 Scallop Ovals in cherry cobbler (hair)

Round Tab in plaid print (skirt)

Scallop Square in plaid print (sleeves)

3 Medium Ovals in plaid print (sleeves & collar)

1 3/4" Scallop Circle in green (apron)

Word Window in green (apron straps)

Designer Label in green (apron)

2 - 3/4" Circles in black (shoes)

2 - 1/4" Circles in cherry cobbler (buttons on apron)

2) Cut apart the pieces as follows:

Cut scallop ovals in half. Cut one of the halves in half to create the bangs. On 2 of the other halves, trim away 3 scallops on each side to create a pony tail.

Cut one of the blushing bride word windows in half for the legs.

Cut the green word window in half for the apron straps

Cut the round tab in half and glue the pieces together to form the skirt

Trim away the sides and top of the scallop circle for the apron as shown.

Trim about 1/4 off each medium oval to form the sleeves. Clip 2 sides off the scallop square. Glue on a 2 scallop section onto each sleeve.

Trim one third off each black circle and round out the edges to form shoes.

Cut the designer label in half. Round out the top. Glue on buttons.

Use a 1/2" circle to punch a curve in the top of the medium oval for the neckline.

3) Assemble as follows:

Sponge the edges of all blushing bride pieces with blushing bride ink.

Sponge the edges of cherry cobbler pieces with bravo burgundy ink

Stamp the face with Peachy Keen Rag Doll Faces stamp set (found HERE). Add highlights to eyes with unibal gel pen. Color nose and mouth with cherry cobbler marker. Add blush to cheeks with regal rose ink and stipple brush.

Glue bangs onto head and trim away excess. Glue on pony tails and attach small ribbons with glue dots.

Glue straps onto top of apron. Glue top of apron onto skirt piece.

Glue skirt onto bottom of apron. Glue neckline piece behind apron straps. Glue sleeves onto each side of apron. Attach neck to back of dress. Attach head to neck with dimensional.

Glue arms onto body. Attach hands with dimensionals.

Glue legs onto body. Attach shoes with dimensionals.

Balloons were created by gluing the small heart from Heart to Heart onto the bottom of a 1" Circle.

Peachy Keen LFIF Challenge #8

Good morning all! It's been a pretty busy week here and I have another cute punch art idea for you! The Let's Face it Friday ladies needed to come up with an idea centered around X's & O's. So, of course I got to use my Love Impressions designer paper from Stampin' Up!. Peachy Keen came out with the new Valentine/St Pattys stamp release yesterday and Kathy outdid herself again! My NEW favorite face set was in the batch. It's called Wide Eyed and Bushy Tailed (check it out HERE). I used the 1 1/8" size set for the puppy face. Be sure to visit the challenge site HERE and check out the other great projects. Play along in the challenge for a chance to win a new Cricut Cartridge!

The puppy was created using the Ornament punch for the head, Large Oval for the ears, Medium Oval for the paws and Wide Oval for the body. I used close to cocoa textured cardstock. Clip top off ornament and round out bottom. Sponge edges of all cocoa pieces with chocolate chip ink. Stamp PKS face with black staz on. Add white highlight to nose with unibal gel pen. Apply rose ink to cheeks with stipple brush. Color tongue with cherry cobbler marker, inside of mouth with zig pen and add some depth around the mouth and eyes with a blender pen and cocoa ink. Attach ears with dimensionals. Attach head to body with dimensional. Attach paws to sign with dimensionals. The greeting is from the Stampin' Up! Seasonal Sentiments stamp set.

I wish you could see this card in person! I also used the Stampin' Up! red glitter paper and it's so gorgeous! I've used a lot of glitter papers in my crafting lifetime but I have NEVER worked with paper this awesome!

Step by Step Tutorial for Valentine Mouse Box

Punch the following pieces using Stampin' Up! punches:
2 Creamy Caramel 1 3/4" Circles - BODY
4 Creamy Caramel Modern Labels - ARMS & LEGS
1 Creamy Caramel Ornament - HEAD
2 Creamy Caramel 1 3/8" Circles - EARS
2 Creamy Caramel Medium Ovals - FEET
2 Creamy Caramel 3/4" Circles - PAWS
2 Blushing Bride 1" Circles - EARS
1 Creamy Caramel 2 Step Bird branch - TAIL

Assembly:

1) Trim the top off ornament and round out pointed bottom. Clip about one quarter off the bottom of each medium oval piece to form feet. Trim the leaves off the branch to form the tail. Sponge the edges of all caramel pieces with close to cocoa ink. Sponge the edges of the blushing bride circles with blushing bride ink.

2) Glue pink circles onto inside of 1 3/8" circles for ears. Glue 1 3/4" Circles together for body. Stamp face onto ornament using the Peachy Keen 1 1/8" Wide Eyed & Bushy Tailed stamp set (PK-758). Color in whites of eyes, highlights and teeth with a unibal white gel pen. Add color to the eyelids with blender pen and cocoa ink. Apply regal rose ink to cheeks with stipple brush (or lightly with sponge/dauber).

3) Glue ears onto back of head. Attach head to body with dimensional. Glue legs onto body. Attach feet to legs with dimensionals. Glue tail onto body. Glue arms onto body and attach paws with dimensionals (be sure to have "right" side of arms flat down on table (this is because arms will fold forward onto box. Assembled mouse looks like this:

Triangle Treat Box Assembly:

Cut a piece of acetate (window sheet/transparency) 5 3/4" x 5 3/4".

Along one side, score at 1 3/4", 3 1/2" & 5 1/4"

Along other side, score at 1 1/4" & 4 1/2"

Cut away the top and bottom sections as shown in this diagram:

Apply sticky strip or other strong clear adhesive to the 1/2" tab on the right side of the box as shown above. Sharpen the score marks. Adhere the 1/2" tab onto the other end of the box to form a triangular shaped tube. Fold the triangles at the top and bottom of the box inwards to close the end. Tape the bottom closed. Leave the top untaped so you can add treats. This box was created for the Reeses valentine peanut butter hearts. I think that the Hershey's Bliss heart candies may also fit. You can stack 6 hearts perfectly inside the box.

Attach mouse to back of box. Use dimensionals to attach paws to sides of box. Stamp and attach tag to box.

Raggedy Andy

I had so much fun with my Raggedy Ann that I had to make a Raggedy Andy. As much as I liked my Raggedy Ann, I needed to make a smaller piecing so it could easily fit on an A2 size card. I came up with this cute little guy. I found that I liked the blushing bride color for the skin tone over the crumb cake which looked a little washed out in my photos.

I featured this little guy on my Split Coast Stampers tutorial today. This week, my Sliding Pop Up card is the technique of the week. Check out the tutorial HERE. Here is the card I created with my Raggedy Andy (tutorial is below).

EDIT: I've had a few people ask. I used the Sizzix Valentines #4 embossing folder set to create the background on this card.

Raggedy Andy Instructions:

1) Punch the following pieces:

3 Word Windows in blushing bride (arms & neck)

1 1/4" Circle in blushing bride (head)

1/2" Circles in blush blossom (hands)

2 Word Windows in blue (bibs)

Large Tag (used to be labeled small tag in catalog) in blue (bibs)

Designer Label in blue (bibs)

2 Small Ovals in stripe (sleeves)

Medium Oval in stripe (shirt)

3/4" Circles in black (shoes)

2 Scallop Ovals in cherry cobbler (hair)

1 3/8" Square punch in vanilla (hat)

1/4" Circle punch in cherry cobbler (buttons)

2) Cut one third off on each of the striped small ovals to create the sleeves. Cut both blue word windows in half. Round out the ends. Cut th designer label in half. Round out the top corners. Glue buttons onto bibs and draw button holes. Cut one scallop oval in half. Sponge edges with chocolate chip. Sponge edges of all blushing bride pieces with blushing bride Sponge edges of blue pieces with not quite navy ink. For hat, cut square in half corner to corner. Cut one of the halves into half. Sponge edges with crumb cake ink and glue smaller triangle onto larger triangle. Cut a 1/2" wide strip. Attach onto bottom of hat with dimensional and trim ends. Trim a little off the bottom of each black circle and round edges to create shoes.

3) Glue straps onto top of designer label. Using a 1/2" circle punch, punch a small half circle into the center top of the medium oval to create the neckline. Glue onto back of straps. Glue sleeves behind straps. Glue designer label onto top of large punch piece. Glue cuffs to pants. Draw on details and add highlights on pants with blender pen and navy ink. Attach feet with dimensionals. Glue neck onto back of body. Using the Peachy Keen Rag Doll Faces stamp set (found HERE), stamp the face onto the 1 1/4" circle. Add highlights to eyes with unibal gel pen and color nose and cheek hearts with cherry cobbler marker. Glue scallop oval onto top of head and trim away the top. Glue the other scallop oval halves onto back of head. Attach hat with dimensional. Attach head to neck with dimensional. Attach hands to arms with dimensionals. The string of hearts in his hands in the card sample are just 3/4" punched circles glued end to end with a red glitter heart popped onto the center of each circle.
