PKS Photo Challenge
This week's Peachy Keen Challenge is based on a photo inspiration. I admit that I really had to reach on this one. The color combo was hard for me to get into. I ended up using 3 of the colors shown.
For my card I used the PK-1341 Clearly Autumn Pint Jar Contents. I love the pinecones! For some reason the colors were a bit washed out. I think my lighting was too bright.....

Awesome phone case
It's not often that I write about non crafting things, but I just had to share this with all of you. I was recently looking for a storage case for my smart phone. I wanted something stylish, quality made and protected my phone well. I found the website www.thesnugg.com. This site is great for your iPhone, iPad, Samsung Galaxy S phone or Kindle storage needs.
I got the black leather pouch case for my Galaxy S3 phone. The quality of the leather is fantastic and the case is very well made. My phone did indeed fit very snugly in the case. The inside is very soft so the case and screen of your phone doesn't get scratched. To get the phone out of the case, you pull the S tab on the back of the pouch. The elastic tab pulls the phone up out of the case like those ribbon pouch cards that you've probably seen on the net. Check out the details HERE. Right now there is a really good sale going on over at the website so if you are looking for a nice case, head on over to the website. Here is a pic of my phone in the case, after I pulled the tab to get it out of the case. When it's fully in the case, the entire phone is covered.

Dog House Treat Box Tutorial
Today I want to show you how to make this cute little dog house treat box. This is the perfect gift for the dog lover in your life. You can either fill the box with doggie treats for their pet or people treats for them!
For this project, I'm using the PKSC-20 August 2013 Stamp of the Month set. I love the puppy and house in this set! It's perfect for paper piecing for a great three dimensional look. Following are the step by step instructions to make the treat box.
Step 1
Cut a 10-1/2" x 7-1/4" piece of chocolate chip card stock or wood grain designer paper (I used Woodgrain Love by My Little Shoe Box). On the long side, score at 2-1/2", 5", 7-1/2" and 10". On the short side, score at 2" and 5-1/4". Sharpen the score lines.
Step 2
If using a patterned paper, turn the paper over to mark on the back side. On the first and third squares along the top, mark at the center top of each square (1-1/4" is the center of the square). Draw a line from the center point to the lower corner of the square. Now measure out 1/2" from the lines just drawn and draw a line as shown.
Step 3
Clip on the score lines and cut away the sections as shown. Use a ruler and bone folder to score on the pencil lines. Sharpen score lines.
Step 4
Flip over and put a strong adhesive on the tabs as shown. Do not add adhesive to the inside tabs on the pointed sections. These tabs will be used for the roof top to open and close.
Step 5
Assemble box. Tape bottom flaps of box closed.
Step 6
Cut a 3" x 5-1/2" piece of early espresso or textured card stock. Score at 2-3/4" and sharpen crease. Attach to the two tabs with adhesive. The other side of the roof will be a "flap" to get the treats from the box. Add a repositionable adhesive/velcro/magnets to these tabs so it can be opened easily.
Step 7
Cut a piece of black/espresso card stock 1-3/4" x 2-3/4". Corner round the top edges and glue piece onto the front of dog house. Stamp the puppy twice onto a designer paper or card stock. Stamp the face onto one of the bodies. Cut that head out and mount onto the other dog image with dimensionals. Attach dog to front of dog house with dimensionals.

PKS Challenge 3D Pet Themed Project
This week's challenge over at the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge Blog was to create a 3D project featuring pets. Of course, I couldn't resist using the new super cute August Stamp of the Month set. This card design is called a Bendi Fold card. The basic step by step instructions for this card style is located at Splitcoaststampers HERE.
I paper pieced the puppy and dog house with assorted designer papers. The grass was die cut and cloud background is an embossing folder from SU!.

Peachy Keen Challenge - Gift Card Holders
I'm happy to be back to the Peachy Keen Challenge! This week's challenge is to create a gift card holder. It's Christmas in July over at Peachy Keen Stamps and I had to use this cute little set called PK-1326 Gingerbread. These cuties are a two step set where you stamp the frosting on top.
I created this cool gift card holder that looks like a little gift bag (which you could add a little treat to) and when you open the top the gift card pops up. A step by step tutorial for this technique will be available in the future. Check out the great projects created by the other girls at the PKS Challenge Blog.

Gone a long while
Hello all, I'm so sorry I haven't posted an update in a long time. Thanks to everyone that continue to check my blog and have asked if I'm ok. Recently I made the hard decision to get a divorce. My life has taken a complete turn on it's head! I haven't had the desire or inclination to create lately. I stepped back from my design team work for Peachy Keen Stamps. Kathy is a wonderful friend and has been very understanding. I haven't left the team officially, but I'm taking a break for a while until I can get my life back into order!
Anyone that has gotten divorced knows this is a long arduous process. I can't say for sure when I'll resume posting on a regular basis (or at all). I do have a triple tier easel card tutorial coming up in June on Splitcoast Stampers so I will be sharing that down the road. I'm hoping my mojo and desire to create come back. I miss sharing with all of you!
EDIT:
Thank you to all of the wonderful people who have commented and emailed me their support. I appreciate all of you. Thank you for continuing to visit my site even though I haven't posted in a long while. I hope to be creating and sharing with all of you in the near future!
