Peachy Keen LFIF Challenge #25

Good morning everyone!  The Peachy Keen "Let's Face it Friday" challenge this week is to incorporate leaves into our creations using Peachy Keen face stamps.  I was so excited to use my brand new stamp set called PK-648 Faceless Scarecrow Dolls combined with the PK-649 Scarecrow Accessories stamp set (face and greeting).  The leaves are from a Stampin' Up! set called Gently Falling.

Supplies:
*All papers, inks and accessories by Stampin' Up!
Soft Suede card stock embossed with Houndstooth embossing folder
Spice Cake designer series paper
More Mustard card stock for base of scarecrow
Crumb Cake card stock for face of scarecrow
Soft Suede card stock (embossed) for hat on scarecrow
Island Indigo card stock for pants on scarecrow
Basic Black, Early Espresso, More Mustard, Regal Rose ink pads
Cherry Cobbler, More Mustard markers
uni-ball white gel pen
Small Heart punch on hat
1-1/4" Circle layered on 1-3/8" Circle for greeting.  Designer Label punch for backing
Treat Tubes (Stampin' Up) filled with almonds and praline pecans
1-1/4" Early Espresso striped grosgrain ribbon
3/8" Pool Party ruffled ribbon
1/8" Early Espresso taffeta ribbon
Leaves stamped using Early Espresso ink pad and Gently Falling stamp set

Scarecrow Instructions:
(1) Stamp scarecrow with black onto More Mustard card stock and cut out.  Sponge edges with More Mustard ink pad. If you want to add more shading to straw, gently color a stroke along each straw with a More Mustard marker.  Stamp just the head onto another piece of More Mustard and cut out just the straw laying on the face and sponge edges.

(2) Stamp head with black onto Crumb Cake card stock.  Stamp face from accessories set with black.  Stipple rose onto cheeks.  Color in nose with Cherry Cobbler marker.  Add white hilights to eyes with uniball gel ink pen.  Cut out face all the way to hat brim (don't cut around straw on face).  Sponge edges with crumb cake ink.  Glue face onto body.  Glue straw "bangs" onto face.

(3) Stamp head onto embossed piece of Soft Suede and cut out hat.  Glue onto head.  Stamp head onto spice cake dsp and cut out hat band and glue on.  Punch small heart and glue onto hat.

(4) Stamp lower part of body on Island Indigo card stock and cut out pants and glue onto body.

(5) Stamp upper part of body onto spice cake dsp and cut out arms (leave the area across chest in once piece, cutting around straw around neck.  Glue onto body.

(6) Stamp body onto spice cake dsp and cut out dress and cuffs on sleeves. Glue onto body.  Color in buttons with Island indigo marker.

Box Instructions:
Create box following the instructions HERE (follow instructions for Four Tube variation) using Soft Suede card stock.  Use the 1" punch for holes.  For the backing, cut a piece of 4-1/2" x 7-1/2" soft suede.  Layer 4-3/8" 4-3/8" spice cake dsp at top of piece (this is what will show above tube holder). Attach tube holder to backing.

Wrap a length of espresso striped ribbon around box and tie a knot (slip a short length of pool party ribbon into the knot before tightening.  Attach scarecrow with dimensionals.  Stamp greeting with espresso ink onto pool party card stock. Punch out with 1-1/4" circle. Layer onto 1-3/8" early espresso circle.  Layer that onto decorative label punch in spice cake dsp.  Mount onto box with dimensionals.

Stamp leaves from Gently Falling with early espresso ink onto spice cake dsp.  Cut out leaves with stems. Fill bags with treats.  I used almonds and praline pecans.  Seal bags and then tie 1/8" espresso taffeta ribbon around top of each tube. Slip a leaf stem under each ribbon (you may want to secure with a mini glue dot).

Peachy Keen & Quick Quotes Blog Hop

Thank you so much for joining us for the Peachy Keen Stamps and Quick Quotes joint blog hop!
If you've just came from the Quick Quotes blog, then you are hopping along just fine. I'm the first designer on the hop today.  You'll have until Sunday night to complete the hop and leave comments for a chance to win a prize!

Peachy Keen Stamps and Quick Quotes have partnered this weekend to bring you incredible creations from both Design Teams. You'll see how versatile our products truly are!  I used paper and vellum quotes from the Live Out Loud collection at Quick Quotes.  Please note that the pretty orange and lime green print papers are the back side of the papers shown on the product page.  I also used 2 of the Peachy Keen face sets to create my punch art characters.  The faces on the birds are from the PK-482 Winter Wonderland Face Assortment.  The face on the frog prince is from PK-741 Baby Animals.

(look below for supply list)

Ghost Candy Box Card Instructions:
Go HERE for the step by step instructions to make the treat box card.  I used the DCWV Ghosts & Goblins paper stack.  The greetings are from the My Creative Time "All Around Halloween" stamp set.

For the ghost, punch the following pieces out of shimmery white card stock using Stampin' Up! punches:
Ornament for head
4 Blossom Petals
Extra Large Oval for body

Use the small oval punch (currently in US catalog) to punch sleeves as shown.  Trim away the bottom of 2 blossom petals to form body pieces.   Use glue pen and dizzling diamonds glitter to outline edges of all pieces and add strokes of glitter in the center of each piece (except the head).  Stamp the In Stitches face with black on the ornament.  Stipple or sponge regal rose ink onto cheeks and add glitter to nose.

Glue 2 petal pieces onto body.  Glue arms onto body.  Attach head with dimensional or Wobble Action Spring (as shown here).

Pumpkin Pooch Instructions:
Card was created with the DCWV Ghosts & Goblins paper stack.  Punch the following pieces with Stampin'  Up! punches:

(3) Extra Large Ovals in Peach Parfait for pumpkin
(2) 1-3/8" Circle in Creamy Caramel for dog head and body
(2) wings from Bird Builder punch in Creamy Caramel for ears
(2) 1/2" Circles in Creamy Caramel for paws
several flowers from itty bitty punch pack in Chocolate Chip for spots

Sponge edges of all creamy caramel pieces with close to cocoa ink.  Stamp face from Happy Go Luck Dog face set with black ink.  Add hilights to eyes with white unibal gel pen.  Color in tongue with blender pen and cherry cobbler ink.  Color in mouth with black marker.  Stipple or sponge regal rose ink onto cheeks.  Glue spots onto head and body and trim excess away from edges.  Glue ears onto head.

Sponge edges of peach parfait pieces with cajun craze ink.  Stamp face from In Stitches in black.  Add white hilights with unibal gel pen.  Color in nose and mouth with blender pen and cajun craze ink.  Overlap 2 ovals and glue together.  Attach 3rd oval in center with dimensional.

Glue dog body onto back of pumpkin.  Glue paws onto front of pumpkin.  Attach head of dog with dimensional or Wobble Action spring (as shown).

Pool Party

I used to teach a monthly scrapbooking class at the local library.  I just don't have the time anymore but I did create some pretty cute layouts for the class.  Check this one out.  The girl on the tube is a paper piecing from Precious Piecings.  The patterns there are awesome! You should check them out.

Beautiful

This was always one of my favorite pages.  This retired Stampin' Up! designer paper was the perfect match to her cute little flowered dress.  I should have scanned these instead of photographing.  I think they would have came out much clearer.

Daddy's Girl

Here is another layout I did.  Lilly is most definitely daddy's girl!  She has him wrapped around her little finger.

I fought the spaghetti and I won!

I have a few scrapbook pages that I have not shared.  I thought you would all get a kick out of this one.  My daughter has always been a messy eater.

Halloween Party Scrapbook Page

I created this page quite a long time ago but never got around to posting it!  This was my daughter's first halloween.  She looked so cute in here little costume!  The mummy was created with the ornament punch for the head and 3/4" Circle for hands.  Punch strips of paper with word window and layer onto pieces.  Teardrop punch for eyes and trimmed 1/2" circle for nose.

Peachy Keen LFIF Challenge #23 Back to School

This project was so fun!  I love owls and instantly thought of a smarty owl when I got the new Peachy Keen face set called Winter Wonderland Faces 1-1/8" (PK-483).  Check it out HERE.  Once again, I got to use an Action Wobble Spring to attach the head.  These are so fun!  PKS has the springs in stock HERE.

Let's Face it Friday Challenge #23 was to create a teacher gift featuring a PKS face set.  Check out the other great project ideas at the challenge site HERE.  Instructions for my project are below the picture.

BLOG CANDY ALERT!!
I have the Snowmany Faces 1-1/8" Face set to give away!  For a chance to win, all you have to do is take a moment to check out the newest release of PKS stamps HERE (towards the top of page).  Then, leave a comment mentioning one other stamp set besides the Winter Wonderland or Snowmany Faces (this way I know you visited).  On Monday morning, I will randomly select a winner.  If you do not have an email on your profile, please make sure to check back to see if you won!

Instructions:
Punch out the following pieces using Stampin' Up! paper punches:
1-3/4" Circle in Crumb Cake - HEAD
2-1/2" Circle in Crumb Cake - BODY
(2) large petals from Blossom Petals Builder in Soft Suede - WINGS
(2) large petals from Blossom Petals Builder in Crumb Cake - LEGS
(9) large petals from Blossom Petals Builder in Very Vanilla - CHEST
(5) Small Hearts in Peach Parfait - FEET & BEAK
(2) medium petals from Blossom Petals Builder in Crumb Cake - HEAD

For the glasses, first punch a hole in black cardstock using the 1/2" circle.  Line up the 3/4" circle over the punched hole to create a ring shape.  Punch 2 of these.  Punch or cut a small piece of black for the bridge on the glasses (I used the retired slot punch).

Sponge the edges of all crumb cake and very vanilla pieces with crumb cake ink.  Sponge edges of soft suede pieces with early espresso ink.  Sponge edges of peach parfait pieces with cajun craze ink.

Stamp the bird face from Winter Wonderland Faces 1-1/8" (PK-483) with black ink on the 1-3/4" circle. Color the whites and highlights of the eyes with a uniball white gel pen.  Stipple or sponge regal rose ink onto the cheeks (I love the cheek chalk brushes from PKS. details HERE). Glue the glasses onto face.  Attach one of the small hearts with a dimensional over the stamped beak (or color the beak instead). Glue the medium petals onto top of head to create "tufted horns"

For the body, first glue the crumb cake petals onto bottom of 2-1/2" circle for legs.  Glue soft suede wings onto each side.  Glue 2 hearts together to form each foot.  Glue feet onto bottom of legs.  Layer the vanilla petals onto the chest.  Starting at the bottom, layer one on each side and then place one in the middle.  Place another 3 above those and then the last 3 above those.  The tops of the petals in the top row will go above the body circle.

Attach head to body with an Action Wobble Spring.  You can buy them from PKS.  Details are HERE.  An alternate is to attach with a dimensional.

For the treat box, I filled a small gusset bag with Werthers caramel candies and tied the top closed with a striped grosgrain ribbon.  Create a small box bottom by measuring the width and depth of the filled bag and add 2 inches to both dimensions.  Cut the designer paper or card stock and then score at 1" on each side.  Clip on the 2 score lines on 2 ends and then fold the tabs up and glue in place to form a box bottom.  Use sticky strip to attach gusset bag into bottom of box.  Make a tag to tie onto the top of bag.
